The Greens Experiment :: Winter greens
While everything is soaking wet outside and the temperature not unlike early spring, I’ve been growing greens for the past week or so. The point is just a simple experiment with some pumpkin seeds (from one of those pumpkins I’ve gutted to make muffins out of) and some left over ginger.
Mom assures me that pumpkin seeds just grow so I didn’t look up how to really care for pumpkin seeds. But! Like I said in previous post, ginger is another thing entirely. Various sources told me that ginger is a tropical plant and can become quite large. Various sources gave various lengths ranging from 80cm to 1m and even 1m50! But being a tropical plant, they don’t like freezing temperatures, so here in “la belle France” you really should not plant it outside. So both my experiments are cosily sitting on my desk soaking up the winter sun and growing roots and leaves.
The pumpkin seeds have been planted exactly one week ago:
And the ginger has been planted about a week and a half:

Geweldig. Binnen enkele maanden kom ik bij jou pompoencakjes en pompoensoep eten.
De gember doet het ook prima. Hij houd van superlieve woordjes….
